Clallam PUD is the subrecipient of CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act) funds from the County to go towards residential utility relief related to COVID-19 financial hardship and is now accepting applications. The funds are designated for Clallam PUD residential customers and will be disbursed on a first come-first served basis to qualifying customers who submit a completed application with documentation to demonstrate a financial hardship directly related to COVID-19 such as reduced hours or job loss. The Columbia River System Operations (CRSO) final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) has been released. The National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) requires federal agencies to provide such review, analysis and disclosure, in this case, as it relates to the Columbia River System. This is the culmination of a lengthy and comprehensive multiagency process and has resulted in a significant document which was also subject to a public comment process. The PUD reminds customers that the new electric rates are effective on all bills rendered on or after April 1, 2020. At their December 9, 2019 Commission meeting, the Board adopted the 2020 Electric Operating Fund Budget which included an average electric rate increase of 3.5% amounting to approximately $4.45 per month for the average residential rate payer for all bills rendered on or after April 1, 2020.
