A customer reported receiving a call from someone impersonating a PUD customer service representative threatening to shut off power if a large sum of money was not paid. Fortunately the customer recognized the scam for what it was and hung up and notified us about the call. PUD Earns Clean Bill of Health from State Auditor

The Washington State Auditor’s Office has given Clallam County PUD #1 a favorable report on its operational and financial management.  The latest accountability audit report, presented to PUD Commissioners at its January 25, 2016, Commission meeting covers the period of January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014. January 20-21 Sequim Area Power Outage

At approximately 8:01pm on Wednesday, January 20, PUD customers in the Sequim area (including all customers east of the Dungeness River) experienced a power outage.  This power outage was the result of high winds that caused a transmission line in the Happy Valley area to “trip.”  The cause was a tree in the line near the Sunland Substation.  11,802 customers were affected by this. PUD Celebrates Grand Opening of Main Office

Clallam County PUD #1 (PUD) celebrated the Grand Opening of its new Main Office at 104 Hooker Road in Carlsborg on Saturday, December 12th. The event, attended by approximately 300 people, was from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  The event began with opening remarks by PUD General Manager Doug Nass and was followed by remarks from PUD Commission President Will Purser. Co-op Payment Office Christmas Eve/New Years Eve Early Closures

The Co-op in Sequim will  be closing at 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 5:00 p.m. on New Years Eve so the payment office inside the Co-op will not be available after those times. Payments can be made at the Carlsborg Main Office, or by phone using a debit/credit card by calling 888-402-0663. PUD Approves Budget / Rate Increase

Clallam County PUD #1 (PUD) Commissioners voted to approve the 2016 Budget during the December 14, 2015, Commission Meeting.  As part of that budget approval, Commissioners approved a staff recommended 3.8% increase in retail electric utility rates and a 6% retail rate increase for water and sewer customers. Original Post: Customers in the Diamond Point area are experiencing a weather related power outage which caused tree limbs to contact power lines. UPDATE 4, 8:00pm BPA has addressed the issues on their transmission line and power is restored to the West End.
