All newsStatus of Reopening District Facilities
With the state reopening, the District has reviewed the updated guidance from the Department of Health, Labor & Industries, and the CDC and has determined that we will be adopting a phased approach to opening our facilities to the public.
To reopen our lobbies means shifting employees out of the distanced workstations that they are at now, some of which are in what was public meeting space, back into their regular configuration and we feel it is prudent to first monitor the health status of our communities over the next weeks.
Our employees are essential workers and our first priority is safety and having the staffing to be able to respond to an outage event, whether it is water, electric or broadband. Many of our staff also have children or immune compromised individuals at home who become our extended PUD family who we wish to keep safe.
We will likely start with a “by-appointment” process once we have ordered and installed the necessary equipment to have customers return safely. These appointments will be for transactions that require more time than a simple bill payment.
Once we have been able to assess the effects of the state reopening and are satisfied with our ability to do so, we will make an announcement on our website and social media. In the meantime, we still have the availability of kiosks in multiple locations, payment drop boxes, the SmartHub mobile app, and 24.7 pay-by-phone for ease of access. Our Customer Service Representatives are also ready to assist when you call us. We thank you for your understanding.
