PUD #1 of Clallam County (PUD) has lifted the Stage 3 Water Shortage Alert for the Gales Addition, Mt. Angeles and Monroe portions of the Port Angeles Composite Water System.
These PUD water systems rely on purchased water supplied from the City of Port Angeles. In response to low flows in the Elwha River, the City of Port Angeles issued a Stage 3 Water Shortage Declaration on September 9. The PUD issued a Stage 3 Water Alert for the impacted PUD systems on September 11.
Since October 19, flows in the Elwha River have been returning to normal levels. Today, the City of Port Angeles rescinded the Stage 3 Water Shortage Declaration, effective immediately. Therefore, in accordance with the PUD Drought Response Plan, the Stage 3 Water Shortage Alert for the Gales Addition, Mt. Angeles and Monroe portions of the Port Angeles Composite Water System is lifted.
