Septic failures that increase levels of nitrate contamination in the groundwater, water conservation issues, and lack of urban services are major concerns for the Carlsborg Urban Growth Area (UGA). Additionally, economic development and growth within the UGA continues to be limited by the land area requirements of on-site septic systems.
