PUD Announces Forthcoming Customer Survey

10/22/2014 October 22, 2014, Port Angeles, WA - Doug Nass, PUD General Manger, announced today that Clallam PUD will commence a survey of customers within the next two weeks. The survey is expected to take about ten (10) days to complete, and a random sample of residential customers will be contacted to participate. Approximately 400 customers will be surveyed.  Clallam PUD is warning customers of a possible telephone scam where the caller poses as a PUD employee and attempts to collect money via credit card. This past weekend multiple PUD customers received a call from an “800” number where the caller claimed to be a PUD employee and said power would be shut off if the bill was not paid in full via credit card. Moody’s Investors Service issued a bond rating of Aa3 for Clallam PUD's outstanding revenue bonds, reaffirming a stable outlook. Moody's reported, "The Aa3 rating primarily reflects the district's stable and rural service area, solid debt service coverage with low debt load, and satisfactory legal provisions. PUD Commissioners voted to approve a staff recommended 3.5% increase in retail electric utility rates which amounts to an increase of approximately $3.35 per month for the average PUD residential customer, using 1200 kWh per month.
