PUD Celebrates Grand Opening of Main Office
Clallam County PUD #1 (PUD) celebrated the Grand Opening of its new Main Office at 104 Hooker Road in Carlsborg on Saturday, December 12th.
The event, attended by approximately 300 people, was from 10:00am to 2:00pm. The event began with opening remarks by PUD General Manager Doug Nass and was followed by remarks from PUD Commission President Will Purser.
In his remarks, Nass reflected on the history of the PUD and how they came to open the new Main Office. Noting the importance of the year 2015 as not only the 80th Anniversary of Washington’s first initiative which allowed the formation of PUD’s, but also the 75th Anniversary of the formation of PUD #1 of Clallam County, Nass said, “It’s only appropriate we open this facility this year.” Nass also discussed the reasons for the construction of the new Main Office. “Today we celebrate the grand opening of our 30,000 square foot facility that is designed to not only improve internal efficiencies, create a one stop shopping convenience for our customers, and to be the cornerstone of the PUD for the next 50 years,” said Nass.
Purser’s comments focused on the future of the PUD and Clallam County in his remarks. “From what I can see, the future is bright for the PUD and for Clallam County as a whole. This new Main Office is more than just a place of business; it is a sign of commitment to the future of Clallam County. Our customers include small businesses, large chains, manufacturers, mills, agriculture, governments, medical services, young families, people on fixed incomes, and so many more. We value each and every one of our customers and when we make decisions about the future we always have them in mind. We are here to serve,” said Purser.
The official ribbon cutting followed the remarks, with PUD Commissioners Hugh Haffner and Will Purser joined by General Manager Doug Nass and PUD employees. Once the ribbon cutting ceremony was complete visitors enjoyed refreshments provided by Lawhead Architects and Neeley Construction Company. Self-guided tours were available with PUD staff strategically located throughout the facility offering information on what the various departments of the PUD do for the benefit of the customer.
The PUD thanks everyone who came out to the grand opening, and thanks our customers for their continued support.
