Electric Rates
The PUD has 8 electric rates for various types of service. The residential electric rate for most of the county is a basic charge of $40.50 per month plus $0.077 per kilowatt hour of energy used. A typical bill for one month and 1200 kWh (the average usage) would be:
1 month x $40.50 = $40.50 for the basic charge
1200 kWh x $0.077 = $92.40 for energy used
Total electric bill: $40.50 + $92.40 = $132.90 plus applicable taxes
Rates are established differently for standard commercial, large commercial or industrial customers, schools, municipal water pumping, and area lighting. Large commercial or industrial customers have a more complicated rate.
