POSITION: Accounting Specialist I
STATUS: Regular, Non-Exempt Staff Position
WORK WEEK: Monday – Thursday, 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
SUPERVISOR: Controller/Auditing Officer
RATE OF PAY: Range 17 ($4,186 to $6,802 per month)

POSITION OBJECTIVE:This position is responsible for all Miscellaneous Accounts Receivable and other non-utility related billings. This position will also balance accounts payable data for monthly budget preparation and assist accounting departmental activities to ensure accurate, reliable and timely accounting information and procedures to facilitate accomplishment of the District’s mission.

Candidates’ abilities and qualifications will be evaluated using a cognitive test; technical test, supplemental questionnaire form; work history; credit, criminal and background check, employment references and recommendations; education, certifications and training courses completed; and an interview to determine skills and abilities needed to fulfill the requirements of this position.

Candidates’ abilities and qualifications will be evaluated using examinations to determine: accounting skills, typing, 10-key, math and reading skills; and ability to learn, understand instructions and solve problems.

Based upon these evaluations, District Management will make the selection.
