Rebates for Energy Efficient Appliances

The Process

  1. Purchase a qualifying product. The Receipt must show the brand, model, and date of purchase.
  2. Get a PDF Rebate Coupon Form from the store or the PUD.
  3. Mail the completed coupon, along with a copy of the receipt, to the PUD. Please indicate Appliance Rebate on the envelope.
  4. PUD may verify the installation.
  5. You will receive your rebate within six weeks.

Energy Efficient Lights

While energy efficient lights cost a bit more, they pay for themselves quickly because they use up to 75% less energy to produce the same amount of light and last 7 – 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs. For example, a 15-watt compact fluorescent bulb produces as much light as a 60-watt traditional bulb. Compact fluorescent lighting is available in lamps, indoor and outdoor fixtures, and screw-in bulbs that fit into existing lamps and fixtures. Ask the PUD Utility Services office for information on Energy Star® lighting incentives.

Water Heaters

Water heaters are major power consumers, using up to 20 percent of your power. The water heater rebate program began April 16, 2001. To qualify for a rebate, water heaters must meet certain energy factor ratings: the higher the factor, the better. Local plumbers and hardware stores have information regarding these qualifying factors or you may call the PUD Utility Services office.

Clothes Washers

Energy Star® qualified clothes washers use up to 40 percent less water and 60 percent less energy. For a list of qualifying washers visit www.energystar.gov or ask your appliance dealer in your neighborhood.
